Historic Germantown Preserved Set to Launch New Brand
|

Historic Germantown Preserved (HGP) and Eight
Marketing are proud to announce the completion of
the marketing and branding plan, phase one of the
comprehensive study underway to develop, partner,
launch, package and promote Historic Germantown
as a valuable historic, educational and enjoyable
experience to the community, regional residents and
visitors.
The brand design was created by the advertising
agency Caspari McCormick, with research conducted
by The Melior Group.
Eight Marketing and HGP are now
working together on phase two of this project, the
launch of the new brand. The HGP brand will be
publicly launched at a press event in Historic
Germantown, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, June
17. Additional press event details will follow later this
month.
Historic Germantown Preserved is a
group of historic sites, museums, historical
organizations and an arboretum located in the
Germantown section of Philadelphia. Partners in
Historic Germantown Preserved include Awbury
Arboretum, Cliveden of the National Trust, Concord
School, Deshler-Morris House, Ebenezer Maxwell
House, Germantown Mennonite Historic Trust,
Germantown Historical Society, Grumblethorpe,
Historic Rittenhouse Town, Johnson House, LaSalle
Art Museum, Stenton and Wyck.

Pioneer Awards Set for September 9
|

|
The Rhythm and Blues Foundation has announced
the honorees for the Pioneer Awards. The awards will
be presented on September 9th at a 20th anniversary
gala to be held at the Kimmel Center.
Award recipients will be:
- Lifetime Achievement Award: Chaka Khan
- Group Awards: Kool & the Gang and The
Whispers
- Individual Artists Awards: Teena Marie, Bill
Withers and Sugar Pie DeSanto
- Sidemen Award: The Funk Brothers
- Legacy Award: Donny Hathaway
- Leadership Award: Al Bell of Stax Records
Details of the gala were released at a
press
conference at the Loew's Hotel, with Kenny Gamble
and Teddy Pendergrass announcing the honorees.
Also participating in the press conference were Kool
and the Gang and Chubby Checker.
Founded in 1988, The Rhythm & Blues Foundation
has been the only independent nonprofit service
organization solely dedicated to the historical and
cultural preservation of Rhythm & Blues music. The
Foundation provides financial support, medical
assistance and educational outreach through various
grants and programs to support R&B and Motown
artists of the 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s. The Foundation
is based in Philadelphia, Pa.
