Welcome Delaware Children's Museum
|

Eight Marketing is proud to announce that it will serve
as communications consultants for the Delaware
Children's Museum. Eight Marketing will
be creating a strategic marketing plan for Delaware
Children's Museum in addition to developing
partnerships and directing public relations for the
Museum.
The Delaware Children's Museum
will be a 37,000 square foot interactive museum
located on the Christina Waterfront in Wilmington with
a singular commitment to building imaginative
minds.
Delaware may
be the first state but it is one of the last states to have
its own children's museum. This surprising fact has
generated groundswell support for the planned
museum from parents and kids throughout New
Castle County and beyond.
More than 30
million children and their families attend a children
museum each year, according to a 2006 survey of
members of the Association of Children's Museums
(ACM).
There are currently 341 children's museums across
the country and around the world, with an additional
80 museums in planning.
ACM will be
holding their
national conference in Philadelphia from April 28-30,
2009, with the
Please Touch
Museum serving as the host institution. The
conference is immediately followed on April 30 - May
4th by the American Association of Museums
conference in Philadelphia, the largest gathering of
museum professionals in the country.
The
Museum
is set to open in the summer of 2009.

Lauren Tosti of the Independence Visitor Center has
recently been appointed Director of Marketing &
Communications.
Ms. Tosti, who previously
served as Marketing Manager, will be responsible for
planning, budgeting, implementing, and measuring
all marketing initiatives and special programming
related to the Visitor Center with the ultimate goal of
driving visitation.
