The Philadelphia Opera Goes Virtual
The holiday season started early for the Opera Company of Philadelphia who organized a flash mob of more than 650 opera singers gathered from regional groups to perform Handel's Messiah to unsuspecting shoppers at Macy's in Center City.
The performance was one of 1,000 Random Acts of Culture, funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
Exposure didn't end with the performance; it truly grew wings. More than 6,000,000 people have viewed the performance on youtube. The number continues to rise and is a testament to the impact of a successful campaign, in addition to the holiday spirit.

Eight Maids A Milking
Each year we highlight PNC Bank's real cost of
the Twelve Days of Christmas, released in their
annual survey. In 2010, "Eight Maids a Milking" are
still working for minimum wage, which saw no
increase in 2010, the first time in three years. Hiring the maids this year is still a bargain at a cost of $58.00.
